Bainbridge Island's only National Historic Site,
Fort Ward was established a century ago to guard
Puget Sound. In World War II it served as one of our
nation's most top-secret listening posts.
Today, the heart of the old fort - the Parade Grounds - is being
preserved as a neighborhood park bordered by a new community of 20
charming single family homes, just steps away from wooded trails,
parks and waterfront.
